REWIND Artists’ Video is an important resource for curators, scholars, students, artists and researchers. Based at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (University of Dundee, Scotland, UK) it was established in 2004 by Prof Stephen Partridge, who formed a research group which initially began investigating video art in the UK in the 1970s & 1980s. This group have continued to lead & participate in a number of related research projects. Further details of these projects can be found in the menu above

This website contains information on past and current projects, the media preservation lab, various collections and the main database that features clips and information on preserved & archived works, interviews with artists, critics & writers; scanned articles, essays & exhibition ephemera.

REWIND has preserved and remastered many media artworks, both single screen and installation works for the various research projects and on a consultancy basis for external organisations and individuals.
