I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore, with a joint appointment in The N.1 Institute for Health . My research focuses on social-psychological and communication processes in the design, use, and deployment of technologies for promoting wellbeing and mental health. I am interested in understanding how digital technologies can be used to enhance social relationships, motivate healthy behavior, and support clinical care. I use both
My research is at the intersection of communication and human-computer interaction (HCI). I am dedicated to building bridges across disciplines to solve wicked problems such as healthcare. I have worked closely with clinical scientists, computer scientists, and designers on various projects. My research has appeared in top-tier journals and conference proceedings, such as Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Journal of Medical Internet Research, ACM CHI, and CSCW .
