I first worked in central London in 1973 beneath the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden with illustrators James Marsh and John Farman along with future studio partner Robin Bouttell. The studio was known for it's plasticine model making which had featured on BOAC's 'Earthshrinker's' posters'. Robin and I took the technique a stage further and branched out on our own making models for 'The Sunday Times, London Transport and magazines as well as advertising agencies...
Illustration work was for mainstream magazines including 'The Sunday Telegraph' and 'The Economist'. Later we moved into the field of advertising with clients such as 'Bass Charrington', 'Schweppes' amongst others. After illustrating the title lettering for 'East Enders' for the BBC, I began specialising in 3D, airbrushed lettering which often included logo design, album cover and book jacket design.
