Proud Enfield started at the Lancaster centre in February 2013 as a partnership between the LGBT Network Enfield and ECYPS with the support of Enfield Council. The first year, the membership rose quickly from 1 to 21 regulars. It was a drop session every fortnight but the success of the project dictated the need for a regular youth club every week. P.E. supported hundreds of young people not only from Enfield but also Barnet, Haringey, Hertfordshire and Waltham Forest. In 2017 the name changed to include no
Proud Enfield is a social and support group for young people aged 11 – 18 who identify as LGBTQ+. The group meets four times a month, to socialise, plan for trips, watch films, organise LGBT history month and have a laugh. At the Enfield LGBT Network we also provide help and advice for parents of LGBT young people; it’s not always easy for them either! Call 020 8245 3628 for more informtaion.
