What makes a perfect society? How have people asked and answered this question? For their newest temporary exhibit, the High Desert Museum, located just outside of Bend, Oregon, wanted to examine utopian communities that have existed in the Western United States and various high desert landscapes.
Renate was brought on board to assist their in-house exhibit team, developing the spatial and graphic design for this exhibit. Solving for several design challenges in a very short timeframe and with limited gallery space, we created a set of graphic treatments that both highlight and unify the communities being featured and a floorplan that allowed for multiple distinct scenes and impressions, all to be fabricated in-house.
