I bought a beautiful Google Pixelbook last Thanksgiving. It is a gorgeous machine and makes you want to use it, especially the keyboard. I previously had a lower end Chromebook, but it felt cheap and was clunky and a bit slow. With the introduction of Linux (Beta) in the Stable branch of ChromeOS, the Pixelbook is a super compelling device.

Recently, I’ve been noticing that there is a lot of flickering on the screen upon resuming when the laptop goes to “sleep”. I ignored it for a while, but it is annoying and this is a brand new laptop.

After a bit of research, I found a couple of previous occurrences of this [ 1, 2 ]. I proceeded to contact Google Support and the call went through pretty quickly so I could speak with a technical support representative. Her first suggestion was to do a Hard Reset of the machine. When I did that and it powered back on, it continued to flicker momentarily, so no dice.
