Born in the Swansea Valley, Phylip trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama before embarking on a career which has taken him to Theatres and Concert Halls all over the world, as well as appearing in countless Welsh and English language television and Radio series.

Phylip is a keen and proficient musician, playing flute, saxophone (Alto.Tenor and baritone) piano-accordion, whistles/recorders and basic bass guitar. His singing range is baritone, fitting comfortably between bottom G and top F.
