Welcome Writers! We’re the Mary Roberts Rinehart chapter of Sisters in Crime, a group of fiction writers. Our chapter is located in the Pittsburgh Metro area, and our parent organization is Sisters in Crime, Inc. or SinC. Along with SinC international, our mission is to “promote the ongoing advancement, recognition, and professional development of women crime writers.” Though SinC was founded in part to provide much-needed support for women writers, all are welcome to join our group.
We are authors, readers, publishers, agents, booksellers and librarians bound by our affection for the mystery genre and our support of women who write mysteries. Sisters in Crime was founded by Sara Paretsky and a group of women at the 1986 Bouchercon in Baltimore. The Mary Roberts Rinehart Chapter was founded in 1997. Read more about our history here .
