My name is Darryl Swart and I own Parkhill Studio in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I’ve been a full-time recording engineer, producer and drummer for over 20 years, working with various artists across multiple genres including, Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop, Country and EDM. To me, music is not just a word or a sound, it's an emotion. I believe in serving the song first and connecting to the emotional content of the artist's vision to find the best way to represent what they want to share with the world.
I started recording and producing music in the mid-90's while living in Durban, South Africa, where I grew up. I moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2000 and lived there for 8 years, recording and touring with my band at the time, Tree63. Tree63 released 6 albums, received a Dove Award in 2001 for our US debut and a Billboard Music Award for the most-played song of 2004.
