Savvas is a graduate of Newcastle University's Physics Department, where he studied for a BSc Honours and a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He has also completed a second Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), a Masters in Education (Practitioner Enquiry), a Masters in International Studies and a PG Certificate in Academic Practice.
His research interests revolve around electronic business and its various sub-domains and how digital technologies can transform organisations and societies alike. More specifically, his research aims to inform our understanding of how e-business technologies affect the social and business environment, organisational strategies and business models, and how these are implemented in terms of functional innovations (especially in emarketing and ecommerce). Savvas is an Associate Editor for Technological Forecasting and Social Change and the International Journal of Information Management. He is also one of the founding editor of the International Journal of Business Science and Applied Management ( www.business-and-management.org ).
