Daniel E. Rose is a research scientist, software developer, engineering manager, entrepreneur, and author, with years of experience at some of Silicon Valley's most influential companies, including Apple, Altavista, Yahoo, and Amazon.com's search subsidiary, A9.com, as well as multiple startups. He now lives in the Boston area, where he works as a technology consultant.
Dan holds more than two dozen patents and has published many articles about his work. He recently co-authored the book From Mathematics to Generic Programming with Alexander Stepanov, creator of the C++ Standard Template Library.
Dan has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from UCSD and a B.A. from Harvard University.
