Really pleased to accept a cheque for £982,389.00 to be spent on making our centre more sustainable and therefore cheaper for the local community to run. Measures will include low energy lights, low water use toilets and vastly more insulation to reduce our heating bills as well as upgraded electric wiring throughout. We will be taking any hall bookings until AFTER we reopen for community use in September 2023.
Lots of Preparation going into the repair of our totally ancient drainage system as well as preparing the site for a new lift to the Sundridge room ( above the office) which will go up at the side of the main entrance stairs.
We are making better use of our space at the same time as giving all of the inside rooms a fully insulated overhaul to make them both most soundproof as well as cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
