Oklahoma Scoliosis Outreach is a combined group of specialists consisting of Orthopedic Spine Surgeons, Certified Orthotists, Physical Therapists, nursing and peer support specialist. This combined group of specialist has one common goal - provide the best options and treatment plan for those dealing with Scoliosis.
In many cases Scoliosis is often noticed by a parent, family member or pediatrician. In the event that there is a concern of Scoliosis a referral can be made to be seen by an Orthopedic Spine Specialist.
At the initial evaluation a medical history, physical examination, x-ray evaluation and curve measurement will be determined. Based upon these findings the doctor will prescribe the best treatment plan for each patient. This may include observation, bracing, physical therapy or surgery. The overall goal is to prevent curve progression and avoid surgery.
