In the summer of 1979, then 29-year-old Nubar Alexanian stepped aboard the vessel Joseph and Lucia II and spent the next ten days with the Brancaleone family of Gloucester and their crew on the Georges Bank. Constantly seasick, he returned to port 20 lbs lighter, and determined to repeat the experience, which he did on three more trips between 1980 and 1981.
