Hours after Donald Trump turned himself in to face election interference charges in Georgia, newly-published Politico/Ipsos polling suggests 50% of Americans want the former president behind bars if convicted in his federal election interference case. Another 28% want Trump fined or on probation; only 18% wouldn't want him penalized. About half of respondents believe Trump is guilty in the election interference case and a separate case regarding the alleged mishandling of classified materials.
