As you may have heard, the National Trout Center has closed its doors permanently. We want to thank everyone who has been a part of the National Trout Center over the years. Whether you served on the board, donated to the center, stopped in for a visit or attended an event. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic made it harder for non-profit organizations to function and the board of directors had to make the difficult decision to discontinue operations.

The National Trout Center was able to donate and give back most equipment and items to places like the City of Preston, Preston Public Library, local schools, Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park, Eagle Bluff, Fillmore County Soil and Water, Minnesota Well Owners Organization, etc. Any remaining funds will be given back to the City of Preston and the Preston Area Community Foundation.

The City of Preston will be keeping the National Trout Center website content alive (including those amazing fishing maps!) as well as the 9-Hole Fishing Course. The fishing is still world-class in our part of the Driftless and if you need any trout fishing advice we encourage you to stop by and see Mel and his team at the Driftless Fly Fishing Company.
