The “Asterisms Icon” is an extension of a project based on my book A S T E R I S M S. An asterism is a group of stars, and is also a typographic symbol consisting of three asterisks placed in a triangle, used for a variety of purposes. The conceptual placement of a group of stars painted as a religious icon draws attention to one of the themes of this project, questioning the spiritual connection to the stars and the need for us to have an associated deity.
