I am a writer from Melbourne who suffers from anxiety and agoraphobia stemming from childhood trauma, trauma which has apparently rewired a response thingie in my brain. In the past I have been able to engage coping mechanisms that have assisted in controlling my flight responses (my psychologist said that’s what my anxiety is about or something).
Since last year, however, my anxiety has flared up and the agoraphobia that I periodically had as a child has returned. So I am working with my very awesome psychologist to fix my brain. I’m learning a lot but know that I need to remain accountable so that I follow the plan my psych has laid out for me. This is the reason for this blog.
