Music in Pinner Series
We have just ended our 22-23 season, and are looking ahead.
The final concert of the 22–23 MPS season was really exceptional. Mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston and pianist Emma Abbate presented us with a wonderful range in their Women in Song recital. They began with two sets of love songs by Clara Schumann and by Josephine Lang, which were a treat to discover. This was followed by Haydn’s almost operatic portrayal of Ariadne abandoned on the island of Naxos by Theseus; it featured truly dramatic singing and playing from both artists.
