Hello to anyone out there who is taking the time to read this. I am just starting to set up a family website to make it easier to share items with friends round the world who might be interested in how we doing – and even what and why we are doing it. But firstly, a bit of background about me.
My name is Margaret Salmond (nee Morrison) and I was born in Lanark where I lived till I was 9 years old. Then the family moved to Galashiels (where my father was a banker) and I attended St Peter’s Primary school and then Gala Academy . I left home to go to university (where my first name was shortened to Maggie!) and since graduating and getting married, I have lived in Edinburgh . I was married for 20 years and had two sons but unfortunately, my lovely husband, David, died in 1993 after fighting
My hobbies include reading (I read, on average a couple of books a week and more when on holiday) and my preferred fiction is Crime and History, particularly the work of the late and wonderful Dorothy Dunnett . Living in Edinburgh , I was lucky enough to meet Dorothy on several occasions and attend the ‘Gathering.’ Of course, since Edinburgh hosts the Book Festival , there are now more and more opportunities to meet and listen to authors I enjoy.
