Join Now 05 Aug 2023 Merrell Whale of Trail De Hoop Nature Reserve August 5, 2023 South Africa’s iconic five day Whale Trail hiking route is offered as a challenge to runners capable of embracing all 53km and 1900m elevation of spectacular mountain fynbos, technical rocky ridgelines, sandy beach stretches and endless, mind blowing, beautiful vistas in one day. 35km option available as well as the two day Whale Journey.
Set yourself off on a wonderful, wandering trail running experience through the mystical Hogsback region of the Eastern Cape. Saturday – 42km, 16km and 5km events. Sunday – 21km, 10km and 5km events. Showcasing an immense variety of terrain and challenges, the course has determined runners building a very special relationship with the ups and downs of mountain running.
