Since Mive's incorporation in 2018 Mive was primarily a made-to-measure marketplace of 20 independent fashion designers that shared our ethos on life-affirming fashion: fairly compensating makers, leveraging recycled materials, and minimizing production waste by made-to-order production.
Founders, Maya and Mica Caine saw the need to apply regenerative and resilient design principals beyond fashion, but to general business operations, product design, urban development. Mive Labs' mission and mandate is to redesign processes and systems to help sustain our future world, rather than destroy it.
The Solid Waste Authority of Central (SWACO), Columbus Fashion Alliance (CFA), and Mive Labs are teaming up to conduct a comprehensive analysis of textile waste within Central Ohio and develop solutions to decrease textile and fashion waste in our local landfill.
