Minnie Crook (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, director and researcher based in Glasgow. Originally from Leamington Spa, she explores ideas of memory and nostalgia to investigate her own autobiography and the distance between her and her family members. She is concerned with reclaiming the ‘undiscovered past’, through an ongoing process of exploring her personal Irish history, lineage and genealogical line.
Crook's live art uses visual projection and a capella song to further understand the past as ‘irretrievable moments’ in time. Themes of age, loss, time and grief are invaluable elements of Crook's practice, alongside working regularly with Hiberno-English song, in attempt to respond to the changing landscapes that surround her.
