Greater Peoria Chess Foundation The GPCF is the driving force behind Peoria Chess. The Foundation provides tournaments and activities and the fiscal muscle to promote chess. Our youth chess programs involve several 100 youth of various ages and include that All Grade state champions at several local schools. We also sponsor a wide schedulde of local events, tournaments and provide instructional materials to schools with a chess team, club or other program.
Peoria Academy has sponsored the annual Midwest Chess Camp for the past 19 years. Peoria Academy is a private school for children K-8 that promotes academic excellence where intellectual stimulation is high and where individual attention is given in a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment. Peoria Academy also sponsors chess tournbaments in the Spring and Fall of every year.
