The MetaArk project is a non-profit endeavour, with the aim of creating ultra-long-term solutions – effective thousands, millions and even billions of years into the future – for the preservation of our shared cultural heritage. Currently, we’re focused on the conceptual aspect of this project, mainly designing possible solutions as well as practical implementations of these solutions, on a scale that is realistic for us right now.
The first phase of the project will focus on creating a conceptual framework for such solutions and preparing the answers to multiple questions — questions ranging from the best ways of selecting and prioritizing archive content to the possible technological options for storing such archives.
