Melanie is interested in writing selfish, messy, female characters in complicated pieces that cause an audience to agree with something they would usually not. She looks up to and is inspired by writers Rachel Tunnard, Sally Wainwright, Michelle and Robert King and the filmmakers Steve McQueen and Francis Lee.
Her play Time is a Color and the Color is Blue is a part of Avalanche Theatre’s Next Draft new play development workshop! Tickets are on sale for the first staged reading: June 24th and 25th!
Her short play To You & Me & the Ocean will be a part of the SUNY Plattsburgh theater festival in early May.
