The Senate District 5 Democratic Nominating Committee has canceled the Unassembled Caucus also known as a Firehouse Primary scheduled for Sunday, May 28 from10 am to 4:30 pm at the Wytheville Meeting Center due to the following circumstance: Not more than one Democratic candidate filed for the SD-5 office; therefore, the candidate who presented himself for election is now the Democratic nominee for the General Election on November 7, 2023.
