I was taking part in a webinar today as a CDPE member (Certified Distressed Property Expert) and the instructor told the group that in Manassas, VA more than 6,000 homeowners are behind in their mortgages currrently – this just as foreclosure stats were showing to be lower this year compared to the 2010 Sept-Oct time frame. In neighboring Manassas Park, we just received approval on a short sale we’ve been working since June of this year. The listing is on Wheats Way and the homeowner bought in 2006 for $314,000. We listed the home comparable to the neighborhood at a price of $149,900. The lender was originally EMC, but was transferred mid-process to Chase and we had to start all over.
