The value above represents the night sky brightness measured at a fixed location in the Maltese Islands. Understanding the measurement is simple, the lower the number, the worse the light pollution and the brighter our night skies!
This project is titled 'Continuous Monitoring of the Night Sky Brightness of the Maltese Islands’.' . The main aim is to increase public awareness on light pollution by building a system that can gather night sky brightness data continuously to better understand worsening light pollution trends across the Maltese islands.
This project has been done as part of a Master of Science in Space Sciences and Astronomy with the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy at the University of Malta.
