Maarten de Mink is a graphic artist with an instantly recognizable style of drawing. In his very characteristic work he carefully combines the abstract with the figurative, creating a fine balance between the two. With these works he aims to tell graphic 'stories' that have a multitude of angles to them, but at the same time, strangely enough, appear very clear-cut.
To achieve this, he combines pictures out of magazines with shapes and figures from his own imagination. His collage-style drawings have been described as 'psychedelic windows into a fractured universe that tastes like Picasso meets Monty Python'.
