LSF is a Canadian charity that has been working for over 30 years to integrate sustainability education into Canada’s school system. In partnership with educators, youth, governments, businesses, and community members, we are empowering our children to change the world.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Langley on January 8 th after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was a member of the Board of Directors of Learning for a Sustainable Future from 1996, serving as Vice-Chair from 2006-2017 and Chair of the Board from 2017-2022. Under her leadership and wise counsel, LSF has impacted policy makers, educators and youth across Canada.
Susan Langley was a lifelong champion of public education. She worked with the Peel District School Board for 28 years as a teacher, vice principal and principal. She served as Executive Director of the Ontario Curriculum Clearinghouse, Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation, National Manager of The Learning Partnership consultant, and worked as a consultant with Directions Evidence and Policy Research Group LLP.
