Description: Philosophy of technology meets philosophy of education. Dundee. The Tay Bridge Disaster. Walter Benjamin. ‘Localising Philosophy, Democratising Technology’ is an educational project developed by Dr Dominic Smith (Philosophy) and Dr Anna Robb (Education).
The project draws on research in philosophy of technology emerging from the Centre, which it focuses and opens up through creative use of a radio broadcast by Walter Benjamin . The broadcast is about a famous event that occurred near Dundee: the Tay Bridge Disaster.
Two key premises drive this project:
Philosophy should serve and relate to its locality.
