ABOUT LIFELINE
The Lifeline program in Illinois helps low-income individuals and households obtain local telephone or broadband service through a partial subsidy of monthly bills. UTAC also provides a partial subsidy towards the cost of installing a new phone or broadband connection for wireline subscribers.
In 2017, there were over 22,000 individuals or families participating in Lifeline in Illinois.
