Welcome Since 2002, Long Island Adoptive Families (LIAF) has provided New York families with support, guidance, and information about life as adoptive families. We are a peer-led group of adoptive and foster parents who joined together to fill a void in the Long Island Adoptive Community.
The primary focus of LIAF is to provide community for our children. Our children should grow up surrounded by families that look like theirs! We create that community through kid-centered events such as Family Movie Sunday and our annual Camping Trip, Halloween Party, and Friendsgiving. We also provide parents with educational opportunities like Empowered to Connect and workshops presented by AGAPE and AFFCNY and self-care opportunities like our annual Parents Night Out in addition to our monthly support
