The Lewes History Group is a volunteer-led group of enthusiasts who have an active interest in the history of Lewes and its immediate surroundings.
We started the group in 2009 to study and record the history of Lewes, and to make the history of the county town accessible to the local community, and to others who share our interest.
We have an annual programme of public talks , and produce a monthly Bulletin . We encourage members to carry out their own research projects , or participate in group undertakings, and support them with research meetings to review progress and develop expertise. Our website gives members access to research resources and links to useful organisations.
