I am a Ph.D. candidate in political science at UC San Diego . In my dissertation, I study how cultural values shape expectations of public goods provision. My research combines qualitative interviews, observational data, and experimental research to investigate the role of shared cultural values in assessments of candidate honesty and expectations of public goods provision. With a focus on Brazil, my dissertation contributes to our broader understanding of the interplay between cultural values, expectations
I have experience developing online resources for undegraduate education, conducting research in pedagogy , and serving as primary instructor for courses on Data Analytics and Latin American Politics. I have also contributed to several initiatives for equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in academia, working as Pedagogical Coordinator at Instituto Itéramãxe , as a Changemaker Fellow in the Anti-Racist Pedagogy Learning Community , and serving in the UCSD Political Science EDI Task Force .
In recognition of my contributions to teaching and mentorship, I have been awarded the Barbara and Paul Saltman Excellent Teaching Award , a prestigious university-wide award bestowed upon three graduate students per year .
