Description: Artist-owned gallery and studio in Nevada City/Grass Valley, CA. Large format contemporary landscape paintings and abstracts.
My paintings explore landscape through color and movement, juxtaposing the abstract and figurative qualities of nature. Working in large format, I use a layering of colors and textures with an awareness of light that reflects the environments of water, grasslands, mountains and forests. Depth is created with the use of subtle patterns of spatter, strokes and drips, and is then integrated into the painting as a whole, where the technique becomes secondary only to the full effect of a vibrant landscape.
