Lamington was saved by Arthur Groom and Romeo Lahey from the logging and farming that changed much of the McPherson Range after being declared in 1915, the pair then went on to found Binna Burra  – one of the first eco-tourism resorts in Australia which is settled at the gateway to Lamington National Park. Nature-lovers will be enchanted by the Antarctic Beech, wildflowers and rare wildlife that thrive in the area.
