One of the most fascinating places to visit in Zion, the Subway is a slot canyon formation in the Left Fork of the North River. The iconic tubular shape of this formation makes it seem like it was made for some man-made vehicle to pass through. This guide will cover the “bottom up” hike to the Subway. The hike begins at the Left Fork Trailhead on the Kolob Terrace Road. The route I took to reach the Kolob Terrace Road began in Springdale. From there, head west on UT-9 for about 12 miles. The turnoff to the road will be on the right heading north. Continue on the Kolob Terrace Road for about 8 miles and the turnoff to the trailhead will also be on the right.
