I am a counselor and psychiatric nurse based in Seattle, Washington. I provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling services. I also offer psychiatric medication management and present workshops on healing from trauma, moving through chronic illness, and other topics.
I am certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric Nursing, as well as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry. In Washington this roughly translates into the ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) designation. This means I can prescribe psychiatric medications in addition to providing therapy.
In my counseling practice I take an eclectic ("whatever works") approach that includes family systems, trauma theory, psychodynamic, and solution-focused work. In plainer English, besides looking at you and your hopes for therapy I also look at all the factors that affect you -- family, friends, past experiences, work, spirituality, and cultural background -- and work with these to help you meet your goals.
