Description: Computational Mechanics and Computational Design Engineer

Example domain paragraphs

I am a Lecturer in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Galway . My expertise is in computational (bio)mechanics and computational design. I consider myself a creative designer, maker, and collector, of methods and tools for solving challenging engineering problems. Sometimes the tools take the form of designs and physical hardware, but quite often they take the form of engineering software.

Given my general “love of methods and design”, my research interests are broad and include: computer aided design, design and topology optimisation, computational geometry processing, meshing, finite element analysis, continuum mechanics, image and signal processing, non-invasive and inverse methods, (soft) robotics and mechatronics, lattice structures and meta-materials, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing.

As part of my research I maintain the open source project GIBBON , which is a toolbox for computational (bio)mechanics and computational design.
