On September 17, 2021, the Lord called His devout servant, Katherine Ide, home. In true fashion, she left the world as she had lived her life, feisty and full of strength, resilience, and determination. Born and raised in Hong Kong on December 6, 1947, and at the age of 16, Kathy was sent to Perth, Australia where she attended St. Brigid's College, a Catholic boarding school established by the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy.
She would eventually find her way to Vancouver, British Columbia to attend the University of British Columbia, where she met Allan, with whom she would share 49 years of marriage. Kathy graduated from UBC with a BA in Sociology and a Diploma in Education. As someone who was passionate about helping children learn, she soon began what would ultimately become a 35-year teaching career. She spent most of her teaching years in the Surrey public school system, taking a brief period away to found her own preschoo
