Karren Burkett (nee McLean) was born in Yorkshire, and studied at Jacob Kramer College of Art in Leeds, and later at Cardiff College of Art and Design where she gained her diploma (DipAD).
Having travelled the world, Karren now resides in Dorset, where she finds constant inspiration for her landscape paintings.
