Covid has forced us to stay put. And it has afforded us the ability to take stock of what is close by.
Recently we checked out the Henry Mercer Castle in Doylestown, PA.
It is an interesting peek into the attorney, archeologist and tile magnet’s life. The castle was built over 8 years starting in 1912 and is a snapshot of Mercers “itchy feet”. All his original books and notes are kept intact, including a few copies of Lawrence of Arabia and a whole shelf devoted to Edgar Allen Poe. There are tiles from all over the world including those from Mesopotamia. These supplement the extensive use of his own creations There is a photo overload here but the place deserves each of the
