Since acquiring our trawl vessel, the MFV Dantago we have had to endure many hardships and taken huge financial risk as owning a trawl vessel without quota incurs massive monthly costs. Through much sacrifice and perseverance, we eventually secured access to harvest a portion of Irvin and Johnsons hake deep sea quota, and finally begun to see our dreams reach its fruition.
It has been a roller coaster of a ride though, as whilst we achieved much success during the FRAP 2015 process, both our hake inshore and horse mackerel Rights were subject to ongoing operational disruptions and litigation. This did not deter the Company in continuing with our growth trajectory though, but instead made us even more determined to expand on our footprint within the fishing industry, which has served our members and our ancestors long since passed, so well.
