The Joseph and Vera Douglas Family Foundation, Inc. (JVDFF) is a 501c3 organization that serves at risk communities in Jamaica by providing literacy materials and resources; health & wellbeing workshops, advocacy and resources; and entrepreneurship training and support for women​. Our goal is to empower and equip women so they can SHIFT their mindsets allowing them to improve their quality of life and become self-sufficient.
Without the proper school & classroom supplies, students and teachers cannot maximize the classroom experience. Making a tax deductible financial or in kind donation to assist students and teachers in Jamaica will ensure that both have the tools they need to be successful.
Most classrooms in Jamaica do not have libraries. We are working to change this through the Ramel J. Douglas Lending Library. Over the last three years, we have distributed over 300 books to children and teachers in the Petersfield, Kingston & Big Bridge communities of Jamaica. With your help, we can distribute 300 more books! Our long term goal is to build and place lending libraries at various churches and community organizations in Jamaica.
