Description: Julia Sverchuk is an independent illustration and design professional, specializing in reportage drawing and creative direction. She is presently working at Amplify, an educational software company.
I am a Moscow-born and New York-based multidisciplinary artist. My family emigrated to the US after the fall of the Soviet Union, fleeing anti-semitism. After graduating from Parsons the New School for Design with BFA in Illustration, I continued my post-graduate studies at Dalvero Academy. I work as an Executive Creative Director at Amplify, an educational software company. In the past, I have worked as an art director and illustrator in editorial publishing and digital advertising.
As a reportage artist, I was awarded the title of ARTISTIC ASSOCIATE of New York Classical Theater for documenting their performances for over a dozen seasons. My drawings have been commissioned by MontBlanc, Canson Paper and Princeton University Concerts. I've been published in "Reportage and Documentary Drawing" by Veronica Lawlor (Quarry Books) and illustrated editorial articles for various magazines.
