My current research focuses on the interdisciplinary digital design of sustainable architecture. I work on advanced numeric simulations that derive a building’s daylighting behavior, thermal performance, and material properties.
I am an Associate Professor at the IST, School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training at the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida. I hold a Secondary Joint Appointment in the Department of Computer Science and in the Learning Sciences Faculty Cluster . I am also co-director of the SENSEable Design Laboratory .

My research develops the foundations of changing the current architectural design, construction, and operational practices through modeling, simulation, and training. I strive to understand the impact the built environment has on humans; and conversely how humans impact the built environment. This is a complex problem that transcends disciplinary boundaries.
