Dr. Long teaches ACCT 5120/6120 Financial Accounting & Reporting II and ACCT 7130 Financial Analysis & Valuation in the School of Accountancy's undergraduate and graduate programs, respectively. With respect to scholarly activities, Dr. Long's research examines how task timing interacts with other factors to affect judgment, decision-making and task performance in accounting. He has received a Center for Audit Quality Academic Research in Auditing grant, served as a member of the AAA Auditing Section’s Subsequent Events PCAOB Research Synthesis Team, and is a three-time winner of the School of Accountancy Outstanding Research Award. Prior to returning to Auburn, Dr. Long worked as a staff auditor and a senior staff auditor with Gifford, Hillegass & Ingwersen, LLP, and as an internal audit manager with National Vision, Inc., both in Atlanta, GA. He holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Alabama & Georgia), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations and is a member of the American Accounting Associati
