On the 26th February, 1989, Time Berners-Lee, of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN Switzerland) introduced his invention, the "World Wide Web" (hence: "WWW") to the global public, for the first time.
On 6 August, 1991, the "Internet", or "web" as it's often referred to, began to appear in businesses and homes around the world.
